About Me

Hi! My name is William. I am an aspiring photographer. I shoot landscapes, cityscapes, wildlife, macrophotography, astrophotography, and light painting photography. I shoot mostly in and around Southern Nevada, where I live, but also shoot whenever I travel.

I’ve started working working with models, which I’ve really enjoyed so far. These shoots have been fashion or casual shoots so far, but I’d like to try my hand at horror, cosplay, swimwear, boudoir, implied nude, and artistic nude shoots.

Equipment

Cameras

  • Nikon D3300 (DSLR)
  • Olympus C7070 (digital prosumer)
  • Konica AUTOREFLEX TC (SLR)
  • Argus C3 Match-Matic (35mm)
  • Fujifilm FinePix Point & Shoot Digital Camera
  • iPhone 6 Plus (used for behind the scenes photos and videos when I have an assistant)
  • Sony Webbie HD (used for behind the scenes video)

I’m hoping to get my hands on the vintage Brownie camera my mom has. My dad offered me some Super 8 video equipment and family movies they’ve had for some 50 years. I think I’ll take him up on that.

Lenses

  • AF-S NIKKOR 18mm-200mm 1:3.5-5.6 GII ED VR
  • AF-S NIKKOR 18mm-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 GII VR
  • AF NIKKOR 50mm 1:1.8 D
  • 500mm/1000mm Telephoto
  • Konica 50mm kit lens
  • Quantaray 75mm-200mm Zoom/Macro

I’m in the market for good condition, operational Argus C3 lenses and filters. I’m also planning to get an Instax or Poloroid camera. Or, perhaps I’ll get the Prynt Pocket Instant Printer for iPhone instead.

Other Equipment

  • Vanguard Alta CA 234AT Tripod
  • Pistol Grip Ball Tripon Head
  • Proaim Z-Flex Foldable Pan & Tilt Tripod/Desktop Head
  • Pixel remote shutter release and intervalometer
  • Sevenoak Motorized Ball Head.(for smooth panorama photos & video up to 360°
  • Various lens filters

I plan to buy studio lighting and backdrops and other photographic accessories, including equipment to develop my own black and white film (most stores that develop film no longer develop black and white). I plan to buy a couple more tripods, one of which is an ultralight tripod to take hiking, instead of the heavy Vanguard tripod I currently use.

That’s where my Patreon page comes in. I’m hoping that Patreon subscriptions will earn me the money I need to buy the equipment I want as well as camping equipment, pay for travel expenses, pay rents on locations, pay model fees, purchase photography insurance, and more. Who knows, maybe I’ll make enough that I can photograph full time.

About PhotosByWLG

PhotosByWLG is my photography website. This where I can show off my photography portfolio. Some content is initially not available to the public, but if you don’t want to wait, you can become a Patron on Patreon. Eventually, most Patreon only content will become public content, either here or on one of my Flickr accounts (Personal or PhotosByWLG). Some Patreon content may be archived in a .zip file to save space.

I do also post free (public) content all the time, like the various portfolio samples I’ve posted and will post in the future.

There is an Event Schedule at the bottom of every page that displays all of my photoshoots and other events. These are usually landscape, cityscape, astrophotography, wildlife, or macrophotography shoots. I am always up for company, models and/or photographers, at these events. Be aware that there could be strenuous hiking involved, late nights, and/or inclement weather, and there could be an entrance fee depending upon the location. Be sure to check back frequently to see where and what I’ll be shooting next.

Models can book a private photoshoot with me using the photoshoot appointment booking system. If you have specific ideas for a photoshoot or want to shoot TFP, contact me directly via my social media accounts, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, or contact me via email or phone (email address and phone number are in the footer of every page) to work out the details before booking your shoot. I do paid and TFP shoots. However, between 8 AM and 5 PM on weekdays, I only book paid shoots. The reason for this is that I have to take time off from my day job; so if you want to book a TFP shoot, please book it for weekday evenings or weekends.

All photoshoot bookings require a 50% non-refundable deposit paid at least 48 hours in advance of the photoshoot. An invoice will be sent upon booking. Failure to pay the deposit at least 48 hours in advance will not only result in cancellation of the photoshoot, but may also result in my refusal to work with you in the future. I realize that life happens and you may need to cancel a photoshoot. If cancellations are made at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled photoshoot time and date, your deposit can be transferred to a future photoshoot.

If you’re a Patreon Patron, be sure to check the credits page to find your name!

I now have an online shop at Smugmug where you can purchase paper prints, wall art (canvas, metal, acrylic metal, and wood), a variety of keepsakes, including mugs, keychains, and more, downloadable digital prints, and phone cases (Android and iPhone).

Future Plans

In addition to adding new portfolio projects, I plan on writing some How To articles, explaining how I set up for a shoot, post-production tips, and more. I’ve also started a series of short articles I call Quick Tips… each short article will provide one quick tip I’ve discovered and use to make things easier for me on shoots or during post-processing.

I’m also looking into opening an Etsy shop, where I’ll offer photo books, calendars, and other products not offered by Smugmug.
